"America's Most Planted Privacy Tree"
Leyland Cypress are one of the most popularly planted privacy trees in the United States. They grow very fast and thicken to create a solid hedge for privacy. Its feathery texture is soft to the touch and stays green year round, giving you complete privacy.
Leyland Cypress grow rapidly, up to 3 to 4 feet per year and can be easily pruned to your desired height and space. Even without trimming, your leyland cypress tree will grow in a uniform, symmetrical shape that gives you a dense, living wall. They are very adaptable to a variety of soils and conditions, including sandy soils as well as clay soils. Leyland cypress are also known to be very drought tolerant and thrive well in full or partial sun.
Mature height is usually 20-30 feet when planted in rows but can attain a height of 60-70 feet when planted as a single specimen tree. Mature width is usually 6-8 feet when planted as a hedge or as much as 15 feet when planted alone.
It is best to plant a well-rooted container grown specimen over a bare root tree. It can take more than a year for a bare root leyland to recover when its root system is damaged during the pulling process, leaving behind crtical fine roots, stunting its growth and making it more susceptible to disease and insects.

Happy Gardening!
